This series consists primarily of copies of indictments, opening and closing statement, judgments, and dissenting and concurring opinions from the 12 cases held by the Military Tribunals at Nuremberg, Germany, 1946 - 1948. There are also some copies of the official transcripts of proceedings. These Military Tribunal records were sent by the Office of the Chief of Counsel for War Crimes to U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Robert H. Jackson. There are also copies of briefs and other records of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit relating to Friedrich Flick, Appellant v. James V. Forrestal, et al, Appellees, 1948. These relate to Military Tribunal Case No. 5, the so-called Flick Case. Also, there is a memorandum in support of affirmance of property confiscation decree relating to Military Tribunal Case No. 10. This memorandum was prepared by James E. Murray and other United States Senators and submitted on February 28, 1949 to General Lucius D. Clay as reviewing officer in the case. Additionally there is the April 15, 1949 remanding decision in the habeas corpus case of Lothar Eisentrager, Alias Ludwig Erhardt, on his own behalf and as next friend of Franz Siebert, et al, Appellants v. James A. Forrestal, Secretary of Defense of the United States, et. al, Appellees in a case heard before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
